Excerpt: “We’ve been struggling with this ASA car,” said Hoffman. “I don’t know if it’s because of the radial tires or what, but this one has been a struggle. It wasn’t very good. I think maybe just riding out an ill-handling and a not-so-good-off-the-corner carburetor was the only thing we could do.
“There wasn’t much left of the car and I think I was just in the way,” said Hoffman of the late-race contact that sent him spinning. “I don’t know who hit me, maybe the 33 (Dave Mader III)? We were just loose and started to go back. Starting back in 10th and losing a few spots in the beginning, we just had to use it up. I tried to take care of the tires, but those last 20 those guys in the back were just coming. Through lap 50-100, we were just as fast as the leaders. We got our way up to third, but we just ran our tires off.”

3/23...FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Orland Park, IL -- March 21, 2007 -- Terry’s Ford - Peotone, IL, has agreed to a 2 year sponsorship with TK Racing – Orland Park, IL. The sponsorship was agreed upon by principal owner of Terry’s Ford – Terry Kunes and TK Racing owner Tom Kmak.
TK Racing owner Tom Kmak is excited about the opportunity to work with Mr. Kunes. “I’ve known Terry for a long time, and if there’s anything to know it’s that when he gets involved in something he does it at 100%.” Terry Kunes owns multiple businesses including Terry’s Lincoln Mercury – Orland Park, IL, Terry’s RV Center – Frankfort, IL, Hearthside Homebuilders – Homer Glen, IL, and the Madison International Speedway – Madison, WI. The Speedway was Mr. Kunes’ return to the racing world as he was formerly known in the local racing circles for being the driver of car #71 at Raceway Park in Blue Island, IL. Mr. Kunes has even modified a Ford Mustang to meet the qualities he feels are important in a car on his namesake Mustang TKO, a 500+ Horsepower vehicle custom built and tuned by D.I.D. Race Engineering Inc.
Mr. Kunes said of Mr. Kmak, “He offered me the chance to get involved locally with the racing world again. I have full confidence in his ability to run a race team with great success.” Tom Kmak owns his chief sponsor Lisa Thomas Salon – Orland Park and Tinley Park, IL, with his wife Lisa. He has owned TK Racing since 1989 and is a familiar face on the ASA circuit. He owns car #8 driven by “Fast Eddie” Hoffman.
The recent sponsorship agreement will allow TK Racing to move forward with additional resources in order to be more competitive on the racing circuit. With the racing season in full gear Kmak is targeting higher profile races to get more exposure for his team and his sponsors. TK Racing finished 3rd in the 2006 ASA Racing points standings. 2007 has started off promising for TK Racing as they opened the ASA season in San Antonio with a second place finish and won at Lakeland Speedway on January 27th.
For additional information contact Tom Kmak at 708-826-1608 or contact hairrace@aol.com.
